Strength & Dignity Altered Book Page

I used lots of texture on this one - modeling paste through stencils and/or scraped on, painted and dyed, stamped and then added a magazine image.  This one was lots of fun to make. I was experimenting with  my daughter on different ways to add texture to a page. I also added a couple of digital elements using Pixlr Free.

April Showers Altered Book Page

I made this page today in honor of the huge amount of rain we have been having over the last two weeks. We were really worried that it was going to flood since the river was predicted to peak at record levels. However, that did not come to pass, so I was so very grateful. And yes, we should have lots of flowers in May.

Love Deeply - Vintage Gypsy Altered Book

Old Books - Isola Bella

One of the treats when we were on Isola Bella was looking at the library - amazing antique books - and how rich they were to have so many books. Since my camera battery had died, I was only able to take pictures with my i-phone. So disappointing as there were so many treasures to see.

Coffee Shop

These are photos from one of our favorite coffee shops in Petosky. Kate and I visited there during our last vacation up there. I love the interior - so warm and vintage and inviting. Plus their coffees are super - almost more than you can possibly choose from. In addition, they have wonderful sandwiches and soups - great for a cold winter day in Michigan. I thoroughly enjoy getting to spend time with each of my daughters and coffee shops provide the perfect setting - calm, warm and cozy - plus we always have such great conversations. I am truly blessed to have had so much time together with them. I am going to sorely miss those times this fall when both have moved to different cities. But right now I am just appreciate the times I've had.

"Woman - Don't Follow the Crowd" Altered Book Page

Here is a spread from my "Vintage Gypsy" themed Altered Book. I love the quote - it is attributed to Albert Einstein, but I am not sure that is accurate.
