Blue Monday

Today, I am going to participate in Blue Monday by posting the rest of the pages in my altered book, Love Eternal. I hope you enjoy the rest of these.
Cover - I may do some altering to this, but it is scary to actually change the cover - so final!

That is it for this book. I was literally shocked when I realized that I had 24 double page spreads. I even found a couple of pages that I prepared and never finished. Guess I'll have to go back and do those two pages. I'm excited. You are never sure when these things are actually finished, but I'm getting close here. I'd like to add some sort of closure to the book so it hangs together.

If you'd like to see some more beautiful examples of BLUE head on over to Smiling Sally's place and check out the other blog posts for today. Happy Blue Monday to all of you.

Hi,
I love to do scrapbook pages but have never tried an altered art project.
Any tips on where to go to find out more?
Your book is great BTW!
Happy New Year from Normandy

A very good spot to learn more about altered books and how-to's is at the Yahoo group altered books - at this link:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alteredbooks/

You can choose any book, but preferably one that has a sewn binding instead of a glued one - the glued ones fall apart.

You have to remove some of the pages to make room for the embellished ones. I just cut them out, leaving the edge still bound to the book. I also glue several pages together to make a stiffer, more substantial substrate.

Hi Tricia, thanks so much for the great info. First step for me to do is to find a sewn book..hmmm could find that (i hope) in thrifty stores. AGain thank you...will let you know if I could find one hehe. Keep warm!

Hello Tricia,

Yes, when Kitty set me straight about *there can be NO flaws* I decided to go back and cross out that text of mine and point out what Kitty had told me. :0) Now I can read that and remind *my inner critic* to shut up..hehe :0)

Thank you for your compliments on my blog and my collages...I truly love blogging and love to dabble with the blog designing...I guess in addition to my creative streak I'm also an Information Junkie! A seeker of knowledge...so much fabulous stuff to know about and to look at!

I love, love your altered book..you definitely inspire me to go get an old book off my shelf and get started...I cut out favorite images from catalogs, magazine, have scanned tons of vintage images onto my hard drive..just where ever I see something that can be glued down..:0)

Oh, and the Snow photo is one I took a few weeks ago after a dusting of snow and then I added PiNk Faerie Dust to tips of the branches.

Have a lovely day and I'll be watching for more great pages!

Scatter Bliss..

Tricia, this is really NEAT! I think you did a marvelous job. Makes me want to try something similar, but I'm not as talented as you!

Wishing you all the joys of the New Year!

Sheila :-)

What a great book. I did a little book for my hubby a few years ago... I should dig it out and show it... maybe for Valentines day. Blessings!
