This is a week spread from last year in March. This is one I really like, because I made a fold-out page and included some Happy Mail. I have been working some in my book for this year, but not as often as I would like. I have been working on some other altered books as well. I wish I could spend more time, and I hope to be putting more time in soon. Vacation is next week - woo hoo!

Skiing in MI

We had a wonderful time out cross-country skiing at our local nature center. This is an old log home complex that is just so fabulous in the snow. We have had so little snow this year, that it was thrilling to have the chance to get out in it.

Welcome to February - Book of Days

I seem to be in love with red right now - maybe it is because Valentine's Day is around the corner, or maybe it is just because red is one of my most favorite colors. I am especially enjoying red and black and white as a combo.  It makes me think of the "reveurs" in Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. It has become one of my favorite book and I am hoping to make an altered book with that theme. If you haven't read it, I recommend it. I think she has the most wonderful way of making words turn into images as you read. I just absolutely loved it!

Perfectionism = a Broken Heart

Perfectionism is something that I struggle with daily. When I let it get the better of me, I hurt others around me and also myself. I need to continually remind myself that I won't be perfect and I need to be satisfied with my best effort and then say "enough"! I usually expect to much of myself and those around me. Maybe it is partly because I am a first-born. Maybe because of a hyper-critical mother. I don't know all the reasons why, but I do know that it can be very destructive.
